Our Landscape Design Process

A successful landscape starts with understanding how a space is used and how it functions within its environment. My process combines design expertise with careful observation of site conditions to create landscapes that are cohesive, practical, and enduring.

1. Discovery & Vision

We begin with a focused conversation to understand your property, goals, and priorities. This step clarifies how you want to use your outdoor space and establishes the design direction that will guide all decisions.

2. Site Visit & Concept Development

Next, we walk the property together. I assess light, views, existing features, and site constraints while we discuss layout options and priorities. This ensures the design works with the land and supports how you live.

3. Plant Selection

We’ll meet at a local nursery to review plant options suited to your site conditions. Together, we’ll evaluate form, texture, color, scale, and maintenance needs, selecting plants that align with both your preferences and the long-term health of the landscape.

4. Design Creation

Using the information gathered, I develop a clear, cohesive design that balances aesthetics, functionality, and ease of maintenance. Each element is selected intentionally to ensure the landscape feels well-considered and complete.

5. Installation & Ongoing Support

You’ll receive detailed plans and plant lists to support installation. If needed, I can recommend trusted local installers or provide continued design guidance as your landscape is implemented.
