Our Landscape Design Process

Creating a beautiful and meaningful landscape begins with listening — to you, your space, and the natural rhythms of your environment. My process blends design expertise with a deep respect for how nature supports human well-being.

1. Discovery & Vision

We begin with a collaborative conversation to understand your space, your goals, and how you want to feel in your outdoor environment. Whether you’re seeking tranquility, connection, or creative inspiration, this stage helps us clarify the vision that will guide the design.

You’ll also receive Designing spaces that restore your connection to nature, a reflective booklet designed to deepen your connection with nature and your landscape. It offers thoughtful prompts and imagery to help you tune into what you truly want your garden to express — both aesthetically and emotionally.

2. Site Visit & Concept Development

Next, we’ll walk your property together. I’ll observe the light, movement, and natural patterns of the space while we discuss ideas and priorities. This helps ensure the design not only fits your lifestyle but also harmonizes with the land itself.

3. Plant Connection & Selection

We’ll meet at a local nursery to explore plant textures, forms, and colors that speak to you. You’ll notice which plants feel right for your space — whether through their structure, color, or character. Together, we’ll select options that reflect both your style and the ecology of your site.

4. Design Creation

Drawing from your reflections, preferences, and the site’s natural features, I’ll create a cohesive design that feels both grounded and alive. Each element is chosen with intention — to balance beauty, function, and flow — so your garden feels like an extension of home.

5. Installation & Ongoing Guidance

Once the design is complete, you’ll receive clear plans and plant lists to guide installation. If desired, I can recommend trusted local contractors or provide continued design guidance to help your vision come fully to life.
